Squirrels

Grey squirrels are a common cause of problems in lofts and roof spaces across the UK. They enter properties through gaps in roof tiles, fascia boards, and damaged soffits.

Once inside, squirrels can cause significant damage by chewing timber, insulation, and electrical cables — creating both structural and fire risks. They are active during the day and their scratching and running noises are often heard in ceilings and walls.

Squirrels may also use loft spaces for nesting, particularly during breeding seasons. Identifying and sealing entry points is a key part of resolving the problem and preventing re-entry.

Treatment

Squirrels are typically caught using either live traps or humane traps. After removal, we will provide guidance on identifying and blocking access holes to prevent reinfestation and future problems.
